Flyback Transformers for MPS
Flyback Reference Design

  • Developed for Monolithic Power Systems MP8007 Flyback Reference Design for IEEE802.3af compliant PoE applications.
  • Operates in continuous conduction mode with 36 – 57 V input.
  • 1500 Vrms, 5 mA, one minute isolation (hipot) between primary and auxiliary to secondary.
  • RoHS-compliant. 260°C compatible. RoHS tin-silver-copper (95.5/3.8/0.7) over tin over
    nickel over phos bronze terminations.

2 Inductance is for the primary, measured at 100 kHz, 1.0 Vrms, 0 Adc
3 DCR for the secondary is with the windings connected in parallel, measured at 25°C. For other operating temperatures, use this DCR at Temperature calculator.
4 Leakage inductance is for the primary and is measured with the secondary shorted.
5 Turns ratio is with the secondary windings connected in parallel.
6 Peak primary current drawn at minimum input voltage.
7 Output is with the secondary windings connected in parallel.
8 Ambient temperature range: −40°C to +85°C
9 Storage temperature range: Component: −40°C to +85°C
Tape and reel packaging: −40°C to +80°C
10 Maximum part temperature: +85°C
11 Resistance to soldering heat: Three reflows at >217°C for 90 seconds (+260°C ±5°C for 20 – 40 seconds), allowing parts to cool to room temperature between.
12 Electrical specifications at 25°C.

PCB washing: Tested to MIL-STD-202 Method 215 plus an additional aqueous wash. More info.
