“Unicoil” 7 mm Tunable RF Inductors

  • Windings are precision molded into polypropylene for mechanical and electrical stability
  • Tuning is done by means of a threaded powdered iron core with a slotted socket
  • Optional plated brass shield cans with solderable tabs provide integral shielding
  • Extremely economical, even in small quantities
  • Samples of all 7 mm and 10 mm values are available in Coilcraft Designer's Kit M302
  • RoHS-compliant. Terminations: Series 146 leads  – Tin-silver over copper
    Series 150 leads – Matte tin over copper
    Shield can tabs – Tin-silver over nickel over brass

1 To order fixed inductance parts without cores, eliminate the “J08”, e.g. 150-01L.
2 Inductance and Q readings taken on Boonton 260-A Q meter with 16 AWG tinned copper 1/2" long soldered along leads and bent at 90° 1/4" down from stand offs.
All inductance values greater than 0.1 µH read at recommended Q meter frequency.
All inductance values below 0.1 µH calculated from readings taken at 50 MHz.
3 L min measured with core halfway out top of form.
4 DCR measured at 25°C. For other operating temperatures, use this DCR at Temperature calculator.
5 Irms: Current that causes a 40°C temperature rise from 25°C ambient. Details
6 Core material: Carbonyl J, 1/4" long.
7 Taps available in 150 Series parts at 1/8, 3/8, 5/8 and 7/8 turns.
8 Ambient temperature range: −40°C to +85°C
9 Storage temperature range: Component: −40°C to +85°C
Packaging tubes: −40°C to +80°C
10 Electrical specifications at 25°C.
Resistance to soldering heat: Wave solder only. Recommended maximum board surface temperature of 168°C (334°F) for no more than three seconds. Pre-heating is recommended to minimize time over the solder nozzle. Refer to Soldering Coilcraft Components before soldering.
PCB washing: Tested to MIL-STD-202 Method 215 plus an additional aqueous wash. More info.
