Coilcraft offers specialized products and services for aerospace, telecomm, medical and other applications that require special terminations or ultra-high reliability.
Optional component terminations
Coilcraft can add special termination finishes to meet specific requirements for all surface mount or leaded components. These special finishes can improve the solder fillet and ensure an
exceptionally reliable solder joint. RoHS gold terminations can be replaced with tin-lead finishes for exempt applications; special high temperature terminations are available for automotive or other demanding environments
Once the new termination finish has been applied, the components are 100% tested for inductance and any other required electrical parameters. Unlike third-party “tinning
services” that use generic packaging materials, Coilcraft will tape, reel and package the components to original factory specifications. This protects the parts during shipping and ensures trouble-free handling during manufacturing.

Before they leave our factory, we can subject your components to additional specialized testing beyond our standard measurements. Ordering special
terminations
Refer to the data sheet for the product you wish to order. The “L” near the end of the part number is the standard RoHS termination code. Substitute the following code
letter for the “L”:

Coilcraft test fixtures are designed for testing all types of passive components. They are compatible with most available test equipment. For surface mount components, our SMD-A, SMD-B, and SMD-G fixtures accommodate various body sizes and
allow testing at frequencies up to 1.8 GHz. Their unique design minimizes stray capacitance and residual inductance. For through-hole components, we offer the AXL-A and RDL-A fixtures.
